Nitrogen oxides are the primary pollutants responsible for environmental issues such as acid rain, ozone depletion, and photochemical smog. Nitrogen oxides emitted during enamel frit production primarily result from the high-temperature decomposition of nitrate-based raw materials in the formulation and the oxidation of nitrogen in the air during the melting process. The emission of extremely high concentrations of nitrogen oxides has become a major challenge, bottleneck, and obstacle hindering the survival and sustainable development of the enamel industry. This study is mainly introducing the major solving of ultra-high NOx emissions during enamel frits production through innovative source-based emission reduction theories, pure oxygen melting technique innovations, and low-temperature NH3-SCR end-of-pipe treatment technology innovations, thereby achieving the industrial application in the production process of enamel frits.
